  • Tap on the Photo App on the iPhone Homescreen
  • Now Tap on the Camera Roll or any of your photo albums that you have synced through iTunes
  • Tap on picture that you want to crop, in your photo album
  • Using the Pinch to Zoom option, expand the photo until you are viewing the part that you want to keep on as a wallpaper or as a dedicated photo
  • Take a screen shot using the Home Button and the top power button on the iPhone

Your photo is cropped and is saved on the Camera Roll tab. Although Photo has definitely lose some quality, for example if you are cropping a 900x400 photo on a simple iPhone 4, cropping will make it 400x200. But the process is pretty fast and simple and you can share these photos either via email or via MMS.
