iPod Nano 6th Gen is a cool release by Apple in the iPod series. It has a sleek display with a digital watch like looks that can be incorporated with a lot of add-ons and accessories. Many of the tech savvy iDevice followers have written some encouraging reviews about this latest Apple’s music device but some of the tech savvy bloggers have been very critical about it, especially targeting the software limitations.

So recently an iDevices app developer figured out an ingenious method of hacking the sixth gen iPod Nano. Hacker and developer James Whelton has guessed a procedure to start the device with a set of customized files by altogether evading the device’s full cache comparison routines. This has allowed developer to remove one of the device’s original apps and create a dedicated blank space. This is only possible on all the Jailbroken iOS devices. The developer James wrote on his blog nanohack.me that this particular discovery will enable Jailbreak developer’s community to draw out a way to properly Jailbreak these Nano devices.

He also wrote that currently he is focusing on, how to expose the hidden features of these devices. He also commented that he does not want this process blow out of proportions causing damage to the product itself. Point to be noted is, this particular sixth-gen iPod Nano do not run on iOS but rather is powered by a modified version of the previous iPod Nano OS.
