As the device employs a Bluetooth connection with iPhone so line-of-sight is not needed to trigger the DSLR camera.
Coming over to the software realm, there is a BlueSLR companion app as well and with this app users can adjust focus, timer, shutter speed. This app can also tell your camera that how to take a certain number of snaps within a specified time frame. Users can also tamper the update frequency of GPS. The GPD information will resultantly be embedded into the JPEG or the RAW files and these are also compatible with photo editing and sharing tools like Flickr, Picassa and iPhoto.
On the downside BlueSLR is only available for Nikon cameras but the developers XEquals are also promising that they are planning to add support for Canon soon. Right now, there are 3 different models available; Nikon Essential and the Nikon Advanced are the top ones.
