Home Button: Single Click

If your tablet device is sleeping and you press the Home Button it will wake up and prompt you to unlock it.
If you are on your second or third Home Screen and you press the Home Button, you will automatically return to the main Home Screen.

Home Button : Double Click

Now for the change: if your iPad is sleeping and playing music or media in the background, double clicking on the Home Button will pop-up the media control and you can control the media like play or stop.
