iPhone Order in Hong Kong cancelled by Apple
According to a report released by a tech firm MIC Gadget, Apple has been canceling numerous iPhone orders that have been placed with online store of Apple in Hong Kong. The cancellation which Apple is sending to the customers is that customers who are ordering the iPhone online have exceeded the limit of the number of iPhone units a single person can order. But the reports on the other hand claim that some of these customers receiving the cancellation email have not exceed the limit at all and this cancellation is not related to the reason of stock shortage but some other problem is causing this denial of iPhone availability.
MIC Gadget states that the reason for which Apple is canceling the orders is because of the last week incident in Beijing, where Apple has to close its Flag ship store in the city to prevent large group’s scalpers from buying multiple units of iPhone. In the wake of iPhone launch in China, some scalpers tried to get their hands on large number of iPhones so that they can sell them to the gray market and in order to avoid this gray market sale of iPhone, company decided to close that Flag ship store.
The report by MIC Gadget also states that Hong Kong grey market for iPhone saw a sudden spike in the price of iPhones as the news of the cancellation of orders came around. This means that scalpers will try frantically to get their hands on these iPhone units.
