So, this is what we have been waiting for! The jail broken, unlocked iPhone 4 is here and what more now, it is completely legal. Just recently, the congress gave a landmark judgment allowing jailbreaking and unlocking of the mobile phones as completely legal.

So, just days after the judgment that allowed hackers to perform software modifications, the iPhone dev team has released their jailbreak method for the iPhone 4. This jailbreaking version is a little different from previous versions of the software as it does not require your iPhone to be connected with a computer. In fact, the jailbreak for the iPhone 4 is now performed with the help of the Safari browser inside the iPhone. The browser aided jailbreak software would work on nearly all the Apple devices running the iOS 4 and iOS 4.01 operating system.

The software for the jailbreak is available on the website jailbreakme.com and it is proving to be quite a hit among users. Even though, Apple has updated the latest version of iOS with the much desired multitasking feature. The servers of the website are flooded with users trying to download the latest version.

The jailbreak will allow users to run apps that have not been approved by Apple. Some of these apps can unlock a lot of features that Apple may have blocked. One of the main reasons for the jailbreak is the unlocking of mobile networks which this jailbreak does quite efficiently. Along with that this jailbreak would allow the video calling ‘Facetime’ feature to run on 3G networks. A new Cydia app called my3g would let you run the Wi-Fi applications over 3G networks.

Apple meanwhile has been discouraging users to reject the latest jailbreak and stick with the Apple iOS, which has much improved features than its predecessors.
