Apple Q3 Financial Results Out: Apple Makes Record Revenue
Apple inc. has just finished reporting out their Q3 financial report and the results are truly mind boggling. Apple has posted record revenue figures of $15.7 billion and their net quarterly profits are of a staggering $3.25 billion. Industry insiders were certainly taken aback by these record revenue figures. Although, they were expecting pretty good profits from Apple because of iPad and iPhone 4 success but they were not expecting Apple to deliver some record numbers that even surpass Apple figures.
To put the numbers into context and detail, Apple faced some tough competition from Samsung and Motorola as they launched some of their response products, but that has not stopped the Apple juggernaut from rolling on and posting its best revenue results.
According to these results, Apple has sold some 8.4 million iPhones which is 61% more than last year. It sold 9.41 million iPods which is an 8% decline. Apple sold 3.27 million iPads which is its latest creation, and this is only its first quarter sales. These stunning sales have translated into $15.7 billion revenue.
In the words of Apple CEO Steve Jobs “It was a phenomenal quarter that exceeded our expectations all around, including the most successful product launch in Apple’s history with iPhone 4,” he added. “iPad is off to a terrific start, more people are buying Macs than ever before, and we have amazing new products still to come this year.”
This is surely bad news for Microsoft and other competitors who were inching to beat Apple at their game by launching some new products, but it seems like these results have truly given Apple the lead.
“We’re really pleased to have generated over $4 billion of cash during the quarter,” said Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s CFO. “Looking ahead to the fourth fiscal quarter of 2010, we expect revenue of about $18 billion and we expect diluted earnings per share of about $3.44”
These results though are before the press conference for the Antenna problem, and Apple will definitely see the impact of Antenna and signal issue on its sales. But regardless of that problem, Apple has made its share of profits this year and need not to worry about any small glitches that occur after that.
